Diagrams for verb tenses?

tenses-diagram

I was playing around with Impress, the free equivalent of Powerpoint the other day, and made this. I was looking back through my notebook and saw that I’d probably draw a good number of timelines for my individual students, and could probably benefit from having a single reference to save time, paper and ink in the future. I hope it might prove useful to the rest of you.

It shows Present Continuous (top), Present Simple (at the bottom, ‘outside of time’), Past Perfect, Past Simple, Past Continuous, Present Perfect, and the future equivalents.

Let me know if anything isn’t clear and I’ll do my best to explain, but hopefully it speaks for itself, or else I guess it’s probably not fit for purpose 🙂
